On the eve of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, I had the opportunity to perform in my first world premiere.  Caridad Svitch’s Town Hall marked my third production with the Barnard (Columbia) Theatre Department.

Originally written for four actors identified only by letter, the play examines the all-too familiar sense of unidentifiable yet persistent dread of fears both existential and personal.  For the premiere production, the original script was divided into eight parts, making for an ensemble-driven show featuring slices of everything from the mundanities of not-so-good coffee to ELO’s Mr. Blue Sky.

Reviews

by Sarah Roberston, The Columbia Daily Spectator

"Meyers provided much-needed moments of comic respite."
