If I had to name the greatest joy in life, it would undoubtedly be learning.
I have been fortunate enough in my academic career to work with and learn from many wonderful teachers, professors, and mentors too great in number to list by name but who all have earned my endless gratitude.
For middle and high school, I attended University Prep in Seattle, WA. Some of my favorite activities/extracurriculars there were performing in school musicals and plays, collaborating with peers to orchestrate the school’s first TedX events to showcase the stories and ideas of our school community, and playing as a forward (and backup goalkeeper!) on U Prep’s varsity soccer team for all four years of high school. I was proud to graduate in May of 2017 as a recipient of the Washington State Honors Award for academic achievement.
For undergrad, I went East to attend Columbia College of Columbia University in New York City. Keen to satiate both my interest in both the arts and the science, I took a leap of faith and decided to try my hand at a double major in Theatre and Astrophysics. A unique combination, no doubt, but I relished the variation and contrast it brought to my day-to-day studies, oscillating back-and-forth between meticulous logical reasoning and expressive creativity. On the other side, I am happy to say that I walked away with both degrees in hand (and a few academic honors to boot).
